We are mamas and birth workers who decided to do birth differently– and bring others along with us. We are kind, fun to work with, and great at (lovingly) calling people on their bullshit. With 12 children and 20 years of midwifery between us, we’ve learned a thing or two along the way, and Indie Birth is our space to share it all with you.

This week, I got right to podcast-making with a never been heard before on a podcast rendition of the “Indie Birth story”.

I felt for a while (many years) that this story was “old news” and that everyone I knew had heard my tale of giving my midwifery license back, etc. But, with such an increase in our community numbers and a HUGE incoming class for our school, it has been brought to my attention that actually very few people at this point have awareness of this story.

While personal in nature, my story and path through midwifery have shaped Indie Birth in its current state immensely. We’ve been getting more questions about our structure to operate in the world in a lawful manner, despite being traditional midwives.

This podcast includes detailed information about the PMA (Private Membership Association) structure and how some other organization like ours play into our “family tree.” I am and have always been transparent about this story and about Indie Birth, but I think this podcast takes it to a new level.

I am seriously excited about having you listen and share this one, because Indie Birth and the idea of functional PMAs are changing our community for the better.

We are supporting the new paradigm and introducing a model that truly “works.” Again, please take the time to listen to me tell the entire story, from start to where we are now!

We are so blessed to be growing so rapidly, but I have felt that the full dimensionality of Indie Birth has started to become lost amongst the popularity.

If you are a supporter, or interested in our work; or a student or potential student; or a mama or person birthing…ALL of you will benefit from the information I present here.

I hope you can take a listen and then please email me with your thoughts or feedback!
